Really diggin the new blues album and looking forward to more of these lessons!
Just found your video on the new POD HD400. Good stuff, can't wait to try one. I've gone from the XTLive to now the GT10 and have been enjoying it and your patches. In your opinion is the new POD HD more amp friendly? I run direct mostly but on occasion I have to use an amp. The dual option (xlr/unbalanced) seems like a cool feature.
Keep 'em coming! Love to see your band in the Texas area someday.
Hey Ronny, thank you for your support. I really appreciate it. :)
Yes the new HD Pods seem really amp friendly. I plugged the 400 up to my Z amp and it sounded descent right away. Although the 400 does not do the dual tones, the 500 does and I will be getting one of those soon to do some demos for Line6 so be looking out for that coming soon.
couple questions. i know u are using qbase... do you ever go direct from your gt 10 to your computer.. if so do you use your phones out or your regular left / right output.. also curious to know what i.o. interface you are using
Hey Joe, Yes I record direct with the Gt-10 using the L&R outs. My audio interface is the Event Audio Gina 24. The GT-10 has an excellent USB interface and I have used that to record right into Cubase as well. It works very well.
thanks again for the info.. i guess thats what i am doing... im using the headphones out on my gt-10 to power my monitors... trying to run through my computer soundcard yielded a bunch of clicks and pops... you definately are dedicated... this takes alot of work !!!
Then any delay (for example) is then going to get distorted by the preamp in your amp. Maybe that's the sound you want, but generally you want delayed distortion, not distorted delay.
So, the 4CMmethod is:
Cable 1: Guitar output > Boss or Line6 device Input Cable 2: Boss or Line6 device effect loop send > amp input Cable 3: Amp effect loop send > Boss or Line6 device effect loop return Cable 4: Boss or Line6 device output > amp effect loop return
This gives you a proper signal path:
Guitar > Boss or Line6 device > amp preamp > Boss or Line6 device > amp power amp
The send receive in your Boss or Line6 device effects path should be AFTER your comp/distortion/amp sims and BEFORE your chorous/delay/reverb effects.
Note that you can still put external pedals in the right places - i.e. real wah pedal before the Boss or Line6 device input or a distortion stomp box before the amp input and other effects processors in the loop before/after the Boss or Line6 device.
Hi Glennm, I am just wondering if you could help me out.
ReplyDeleteDoes Pod X3 Live allows 2 stomp boxes being activated at the same time?
Nice lesson btw!
Well with dual tones you can have a separate stomp on each tone then you can combine the tones so yes it can.
