Hi Glenn. Amazing video. a question. could i do the same assigns with the fs-6? a make this question because in my country is impossible to get the ones you are using. thanks fot the video cuz it make myself clear about this assingment thing- thank alot. regard from Quito.Ecuador.
Hello Glen I hope all is well with your things… It would want to know if you could help to construct an Effect me that owns a guitarist who i cantn not to do… this is Link so that if you can you listen to it and you say to me that it uses… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q8lgKxNTb8
Carlos, if you are talking about the effect he is using, it is nothing more than delay and a little compression. Delay setting on about 450ms, feedback set to about 25, level at 50. If you are talking about his sound, it has alot to do with his guitar and his playing technique. He plays with lots of dynamics and that takes a long time to master. The effect though can be re-created on the GT-10.
Hello Glenn, I copied your Boss settings for ZZ top sound on youtube and did well until you added the other pedals. Question is . I just got this GT-10 the other night and am I able to use my expression pedal for the wah with out the other #3 and 4 controls? Like I said , just got it and your video helps unravel it all and I will keep searching. I myself am a tube amp guy but I am really starting to like this toy. Thanks man. Doug.
My 12 year old son is playing Prida and joy at his talent show this year. Your backing trax was great on YouTube. How could I get somthing like that for him to play with.
hi glenn...very nice patches...!!!i'm using a roland vg 88 now with an ibanez jem without the gk pickup...direct to the console...is it better the vg from the gt 10???if you could make some patches for the vg i would be gratefull..!!!
HMM, never tried the VG thru the GT-10 but I don't think that would be a good idea cos the VG is an amp and guitar modeler so you wouldn't want to play a digital amp modeler thru another digital amp modeler.
Hi Glenn, I have a question for you...i have been using a few amps with my GT-10 but iḿ not happy with the sound...those amps colorize a little bit the sound, even if I connect only to the power amp section (or the RETURN jack), so, do you think a PA system will give me a FR-FR sound? to recreate the amps model and effects of the GT-10?
Well yes, in fact I have run the GT-10 direct to PA for a long time. I ran a stereo feed to the PA mixer and I was able to use all of the amp models in the GT-10 with good results. Those patches are in my GT-10 patch bundle if you want to try them.
Thanks Glenn, maybe i´ll get a PA System for my GT... by the way... what do you think about the Line 6 Spider Valve MkII amp? the effect´s quality, tube sound and others features???
Glen, Is it possible to hook up two FS-5U's as well as a FV-50L to the my Boss GT-10 and if so how would I do it? If it isn't how do you have both of your FS-5U's hooked up to your GT-10?
I bought the FS-6 as well but would rather use my FS-5U's to keep from buying batteries.
Benji, that's a good question. I don't think it's possible but if I would try it I would get a stereo Y cable. That's, a Y cable that has 2 female stereo connectors on one end and 1 stereo male connector on the other end. The way I currently have my 2 FS-5U's connected is with a standard send/return cable. That's 2 female mono connectors on one end and a male stereo plug on the other end. That plugs into the GT-10 on the CTL switch jack in the back.
I typically run my GT10 direct to console at church and and have several patches that work really well. I also play in a cover band in small venues and currently use a Fender Blues Deluxe. I have a separate set of patches for that, and honestly never quite get the sound I desire even though I still prefer the functionality of the GT10 vs stomps. I know you used a Traynor K4 for a while and seems as though I remember you saying you sent a direct signal out of it as well. When using your K4 was it mainly your stage monitor? I'm trying to decide if I need to go to a FRFR amp using the same set of patches designed for direct to console. But there are instances where I need the amp to carry the room or direct to console is not an option.
Sorry for the long post. I'm also interested in your opinion of the new Line 6 Pod HD500 for the same purpose in comparison to the GT10.
Hey Ronny, yes when I had the K4 I used my direct patches with it. The K-4 has a L&R XLR out so that went to the board and the K4 speakers were my stage sound. Great little amp!!
You reached all the way to Sweden.. :) I bought myself a Boss GT-10 a little while ago and I just hate to spend my time trying to get a good sound. I just want to play :) Anyway I downloaded your patches and with my Gibson its Great! I used my GT-10 on 5 gigs now and its almost as good as using an amp! But since there´s onlu two of us playing with backingtracks in smaller places, I want to be able to keep the volume down! I use 3 of the sounds you made and after 15 years of trying to find the right sound I´m finally there! All because of you! These sounds cover everything from AC/DC to The beatles..:)
The case you are using for the GT-10 that also fits the fs-5 pedals etc. Did you make it yourself or is it possible to buy somwhere?
I also have to say that I really like your guitarplaying! I will defenetly buy your CD!
HI GLENN PLEASE HELP ME. I HAVE THE GT 10, BUT ALSO I HAVE : AN ROCKTRON BLACK CAT WHA, AN DIGITECH WHAMMY DT AND A BANSHEE 2 TALK BOX. HOW DO YOU RECOMEND ME TO INSTAL THE OTHER EFFECTS, THE ORDER I HAVE TO PUT THEM, I DONT KNOW IF THE SIGNAL OF TH BANSHEE WILL MAKE ME HAVE PROBLEMS PLEASE HELP ME
It's a tedious process. You have to go through each patch and set it like you think it should be then make your adjustments on the fly. The way I did it was I played a small club gig where I could see the sound engineer. When I hit a patch the sound man pointed up if it needed to be louder or he pointed down if it was too loud. Funny I know but it worked.
Hi Glen, when I hook up my 2 fs-5u's to my GT-10 as you did above my ctr 4 will sometimes turn on by itself . I have tried different cords that didn't help, I even disconnected the ctr 4,left the ctr3 connected and it still turned the ctr4 on by itself? It does this randomly. Any input you could give me I'd appreciate-thanks love this blog!

Then any delay (for example) is then going to get distorted by the preamp in your amp. Maybe that's the sound you want, but generally you want delayed distortion, not distorted delay.
So, the 4CMmethod is:
Cable 1: Guitar output > Boss or Line6 device Input Cable 2: Boss or Line6 device effect loop send > amp input Cable 3: Amp effect loop send > Boss or Line6 device effect loop return Cable 4: Boss or Line6 device output > amp effect loop return
This gives you a proper signal path:
Guitar > Boss or Line6 device > amp preamp > Boss or Line6 device > amp power amp
The send receive in your Boss or Line6 device effects path should be AFTER your comp/distortion/amp sims and BEFORE your chorous/delay/reverb effects.
Note that you can still put external pedals in the right places - i.e. real wah pedal before the Boss or Line6 device input or a distortion stomp box before the amp input and other effects processors in the loop before/after the Boss or Line6 device.

ReplyDeleteHi Glenn, may I know which Fender model you're using for this video? So did you changed its accessories too?
ReplyDeleteThat's an American Standard Strat, everything is stock.
ReplyDeleteThanks Glenn. Can I know the price you firstly bought?
ReplyDeleteJynn
I think it was $1,100.00 US$
ReplyDeleteYou are really awesome in answering most questions as I read through some of your replies!

Si sólo tiene que enchufar su guitarra en el wah y entonces entra en la GT-10. O se puede poner el Wah en el GT-10 S / R bucle. de cualquier manera.
